Two sets of visuals created for Wall Street Journal's Future Of Everything conference. Each part of the conference was supposed to be represented by and orb. My themes were Technology and Culture. For technology I wanted to create a composition that represents both mechanical and digital side of the field with a a dash of sci-fi. There were multiple visuals created during the process that didn't make the cut, but I included them below.
Year: 2019
Client: Wall Street Journal
Tools: Cinema 4D, Octane Render, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Culture orb was much harder to conceptualize as it needed to encapsulate many different fields—architecture, design, arts, smart cities, gaming and gender. After many iterations the client decided to go in a more abstract and colorful route. Digital connections, gaming and smart cities are represented with a digital mesh and code. Part of the orb is made from a building facade and wood to add some natural quality and warmth to the composition. The soft, billowy and colourful smoke represents the human aspect of the themes.
